Drenched in tradition…

Paul, Tamara & David posing for a feature in Cape Cod Magazine

Come meet the family!

Paul Endich bought the Penney Patch in 1973 after spending his summers in college stirring fudge for the small, family owned business. Over the next 43 years, he turned it into one of Provincetown's most adored family traditions.

In 2016, Paul retired from his days of stirring fudge, and his children David and Tamara took over the business. It continues the tradition of bringing delicious small-batch fudge, salt water taffy, and all sorts of old time candy to our happy customers.

“A Life is not captured by a list of a person’s activities and accomplishments. It is the way that these activities are performed”- The Art of Living. In March of 2021, Paul passed after a long term illness and will be greatly missed by his many friends from over the years, his amazing children and family… as well as the community of Provincetown and all the seasonal visitors that would come in and share their stories of him. The numerous families that had been coming to the stores since they were children, the tour busses that would come through every year and all the local kids that had their first jobs here. He will never be forgotten and his spirit will always be in our hearts.

Today we’ve expanded online, and ship everything all over the country! David’s wife, Jessica has also joined the family business and have chatted about looking to expand one day!

Holiday Fun

David & Jessica are lucky enough to celebrate more than one holiday a year and they made sure to show off their favorite “ugly” sweaters leading up to the festivities.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow

One of the biggest weeks of the year for Provincetown, Carnival week! 2021 theme was so much fun for everyone. Can we please take a minute to appreciate Tamara’s rainbow leggings!?

Land of TOYS!

memory lane

If you’ve ever been to the Penney Patch, you understand the feeling of overwhelming nostalgia as soon as you walk in the door. Whether it’s Razzles, Chuckles, Double Bubble, or some other candy you remember eating as a kid, there’s something that will strike your eye and bring the memories rushing back. We offer candy from every decade, and if it’s still in production, we will do our best to get it!

We love hearing stories from everyone that comes in. From the first time they ever had a certain candy, or of a loved one that used to share it with them or could not live without! These memories are what makes our day and the reason we are still here to offer that memory lane experience!
